Dates are one of the most prominent types fruits spread in Middle East and North Africa have been an essential part thediet Arab world since ancient times. It has called “nature’s candy” due to its sweet taste, which is attributed high sugarcontent. Date great nutritional therapeutic value, variety elements they contain, as contain a goodpercentage fiber, vitamins, minerals, especially magnesium, potassium, selenium, calcium salts, fatty acids (lauric, linoleic,palmitic, citric acid) well excellent source antioxidants (flavonoids, polyphenols, carotenoids) offer significanthealth-promoting disease-fighting benefits. In this review, origin date palm was studied, valuewas compared between three dates (Ruthana, Sukari, Ajwa) terms components values,which proven by several studies. The content fruits; sugars, beneficial fats, nutritious proteins, phytochemicalswas reviewed. health benefits include their ability inhibit free radicals, anti-inflammatory activity, cytotoxicity oncancer cell lines, applications for use functional food were indicated. exact mechanisms still need further researchand exploration, specifically, Ruthana type available literature showed research gap that could be investigated
